Unit history 1970-1992

236 OCU Operational Conversion Unit reformed by renaming of the Maritime Operational Training Unit MOTU at RAF
St Mawgan on 1 July 1970 to train Nimrod AEW crews. The OCU carried the No 38 Reserve Squadron status for Operations in the event of war.  The Squadron disbanded on 1 October 1992 when it was renamed No 42 Reserve Squadron
and located to RAF Kinloss as the Nimrod Operational Conversion Unit which itself disbanded on 26 May 2011.
