Mirage F 1C fighters were received in 1972 and designated C 14 by the Spanish Air Force C stood for Caza Fighter and 14 represented the 14th fighter type in service since the creation of the Spanish Air Force Ejercito del Aire. The Mirage F 1s were assigned to Escuadron 141 Patanes and Escuadron 142 Tigres of Ala 14 Wing at Los Llanos Air Base.
141 and 142 Squadrons retired thier Mirage F 1s in 2013 and 142 Squadron reequipped with EF 2000 C 16 Eurofighters.
